SCOTTISH NUCLEAR WORKERS PETITION

Dear First Minister,

We are writing as Scotland's nuclear workers to ask you to lift the ban on new nuclear power and allow our country to deliver net zero and to secure the jobs that are coming in the new economy.

In the rest of the United Kingdom, investment in nuclear is surging, with thousands and thousands of new jobs being created each year. All around the world, countries are racing to invest in nuclear to drive mass electrification, AI, data centres, and advanced technology of every kind. There will be tens of thousands of new, well-paid, skilled jobs on offer for those with the courage to embrace this new economy.

That is the future, but Scotland will miss out on it unless we change our policy on nuclear power. If not, the jobs will go, the investment will go, the opportunity will go to the rest of the world and leave us behind. Our children, our communities and our country deserve better, and we ask for you to work with us so Scotland does not miss our chance.
